Mike Ladouceur has years of experience working in Hollywood film music as well as academia. His debut album, Between Worlds, was released in 2019 and he is published by Warp Publishing.

By studying with Mike, you will learn the skills necessary to write and deliver music effectively for any size production. He will help you find and develop your compositional style to stand out among the crowd. You will also understand how music is created for the biggest productions giving you the skills necessary to work as an assistant to top level composers as you begin your career.

He is a Professor of Composition for Screen at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London, one of the top rated film music Masters programmes in the world. He is also an Affiliate Lecturer at Cambridge University teaching film music courses.

Mike has written additional music and arrangements for many productions including His Dark Materials (HBO/BBC), Marcella (ITV/Netflix), Love. Wedding. Repeat (Netflix). He has also worked as Orchestrator on major blockbusters including Black Widow (Disney/Marvel), Ad Astra (Plan B), Gemini Man (Skydance/Paramount), 6 Underground (Netflix), Mission Impossible: Fallout (Paramount) and many others.

When are these sessions hosted?

These will usually be hosted at 6PM on Saturdays UK Time. Occasionally, I may need to move them to another day but you will have plenty of advance notice.


What kind of work will you review?

I'm happy to review any works in progress and focus on any particular topics you want feedback on whether it is technical or philosophical; including anything from details in counterpoint and orchestration to mixing and producing.


Can I get a refund if I'm unhappy with my purchase?

If you are unsatisfied with your coaching, reach out to me to see if your purchase is eligible for a refund and I'll do my best to accommodate. My aim is to help as many students as I can in whatever ways I can.
